GRAMMY-WINNING
SUPERSTAR UNVEILS NEW ALBUM
AMIDST FLURRY OF
PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITY
Atlantic Records has
announced the release of "FULL MOON," the eagerly
anticipated new album from Brandy. The album - which includes the
current top 10 hit, "What About Us?" - arrives amidst a
flurry of high-profile promotional activity by the multi-platinum
artist.
"What About
Us?," the first single/video from "FULL MOON," has
become an enormous crossover hit. In addition, "What About
Us?" has also drawn unprecedented acclaim from such publications
as USA Today, who declared the track "like nothing else on
the radio."
The stunning
"What About Us?" video - directed by Dave Meyers (Kid Rock,
Missy Elliott) - made its MTV debut in January as part of the popular
Making The Video series, and was immediately added into the
network's rotation.
Brandy - who recently
returned from a whirlwind promotional tour of Europe - is lined up for
a number of major TV appearances to celebrate the release of
"FULL MOON." She begins March 5th, with a visit to CBS-TV's
Early Show. Later in the day, Brandy is slated to appear on MTV's
Total Request Live, followed in the evening with an appearance on
BET's 106 & Park.
Brandy will follow her
TRL appearance with a special in-store event at FYE's flagship
store at West 51st Street and Sixth Avenue in New York City. The event
is scheduled to kick off at 6 PM.
Wednesday, March 6th
will see Brandy stopping by The Rosie O'Donnell Show. On
Friday, March 8th, she'll appear on NBC-TV's Late Show With Conan
O'Brien, followed on Monday, March 11th by a visit to ABC-TV's
Live! With Regis and Kelly. Brandy will wrap up her busy month
with a March 29th performance on NBC-TV's The Tonight Show With Jay
Leno.
Brandy has already made a number
of TV appearances heralding the release of "FULL MOON." On
February 23rd, she hosted ABC-TV's Best of Bond Music Countdown,
broadcast as part of the network's weekly ABC Bond Picture Show.
In addition, Lifetime recently aired a special one-hour installment of
their Intimate Portrait series, focusing on Brandy's life and
music. Other recent TV appearances include visits to Fox-TV's Good
Day New York and
Access Hollywood.
AOL Music is hosting a
special Global Listening Party at AOL Keyword Brandy. The exclusive
online event - which kicked off on March 1st - features
"FULL MOON"
streamed on-demand in its entirety until the album arrives in
stores tomorrow. The Global Listening Party follows January's hugely
successful AOL Music worldwide premiere of "What About Us?,"
which saw the single streamed more than 750,000 times in the
first 24 hours alone.
A special AIM
"Instant Messenger" promotion and contest has also just
launched at AOL Keyword Brandy, and on AIM Today. Users who add
"TheBrandy411" to their AOL Buddy List will receive
up-to-the-minute Brandy news direct to their desktop or AOL
Communicator. They will also be given a secret sweepstakes entry
password, with the winner receiving a trip to attend Brandy's upcoming
appearance on NBC-TV's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
Also, AOL is set
to unveil their special Hi-Speed Video Channel featuring all of
Brandy's hit music videos. "The Brandy Channel" - which goes
live on March 5th - is AOL's first-ever broadband video channel
dedicated to a single artist.
In additional online
news, an exclusive Brandy bonus track is being made available for
download with purchase of "FULL MOON." The track is
available - for a limited time only - at Brandy's official website,
www.foreverbrandy.com.
Brandy is
currently starring on the cover of the April issue of Vibe. She
has also been the subject of recent and upcoming features in such
publications as Vanity Fair, YM, People,
Glamour, Blender, In Style, TeenPeople,
USA Today, Cosmo Girl, Black Beat, Honey,
Sister 2 Sister, and Black Elegance.
Brandy's first new
music since 1998's RIAA quintuple-platinum "NEVER SAY
NEVER," "FULL MOON" finds the Grammy-winning superstar
creating her finest and most fully realized collection to date.
Ranging from evocative and sensual ballads to hip-hop fueled party
pop, the new album sees Brandy teaming with a collection of today's
most successful R&B songwriter/producers, including Rodney "Darkchild"
Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears), Mike City
(Sunshine Anderson, Yolanda Adams, Bilal), Fred Jerkins III (Mary J.
Blige, Lionel Richie), Warryn "Baby Dubb" Campbell (Luther
Vandross, Sisqo, Dru Hill), Keith Crouch (Boyz II Men, Toni Braxton),
and Robert "Big Bert" Smith (Michael Jackson, Enrique
Iglesias). In addition to the 16 original tracks, the album also
includes a cover of PM Dawn's classic "I'd Die Without You,"
featuring duet vocals by Brandy and her brother, Atlantic recording
artist Ray J. Simply put, "FULL MOON" is Brandy at her very
best - a remarkable collection of modern R&B-infused pop that will
not soon be eclipsed.
