T.I.'S "URBAN
LEGEND" TELLS GREAT DEBUT STORY;
ENTERS AT #1 ON
R&B/HIP-HOP CHART, IS #7 OVERALL;
"BRING EM
OUT" IS OUTRIGHT SMASH

"URBAN
LEGEND," the eagerly awaited new album from Grand Hustle/Atlantic
recording artist T.I., has made an explosive debut on this week's
national album charts - premiering in the #1 spot on Billboard's
"Top R&B/Hip-Hip Albums" chart and entering in the #7
spot on the Billboard 200. The first-week success of
"URBAN LEGEND" follows the recent top ten debuts of T.I.'s
fellow Atlantic "Joint Chiefs" Trick Daddy and Fabolous.
"URBAN LEGEND" includes the smash Swizz Beatz-produced
single, "Bring Em Out," which is bulleting rapidly up the
national urban and CHR/Rhythmic radio charts, with such major stations
as New York's Hot 97 and L.A.'s Power 106 adding the record this week.
The "Bring Em Out" companion
video is in Heavy rotation at BET, where it is the #1 most-played clip
this week and where T.I. will perform this Friday, Dec. 10th,
on "106 & Park." The video has been added into
rotation at MTV and will be featured on TRL as a "Pre-RL"
pick tomorrow, Dec. 9th. In addition, the clip has
been enjoying "Sizzlin'" play on MTV Jams and major spins at
MTV2, and is an "Oven Fresh" clip on Fuse.
T.I. is also featured on the current Destiny's Child smash single,
"Soldier." The "King of the South" made a
special appearance with the group to perform the song on MTV's "TRL"
earlier this month. He also recently performed on a string of
live dates with Jay-Z, who invited T.I. to join him on the road when
R. Kelly dropped out of the tour.
Heralding the release of "URBAN LEGEND," T.I. graces the
cover of the January issue of VIBE magazine, with the headline,
"Is he the Jay-Z of the South?" "URBAN
LEGEND" finds the Atlanta-based rap sensation joined by a crew of
special guests, including Pharrell, Nelly, Lil' Kim, Trick Daddy, Lil
Jon, Lil Wayne, Jazze Pha, and others. The album is the
follow-up to T.I.'s breakthrough 2003 Grand Hustle/Atlantic premiere,
"TRAP MUZIK," which included the hits "24's,"
"Rubber Band Man," and "Let's Get Away."
